I watched exactly 17 seconds of that video before I determined that an event such as that is not for me. I mean, I dunno, I hate being outside in the heat, especially around large groups of people, with nothing but grass around. >_< On the other hand, you got some awesome fashion shots (even if I would probably never wear any of that stuff myself — do you ever ask yourself how the heck you and I are friends? It's weird how we can be so alike in some ways, and so polar in others!).

Ha ha, I do have a bit of the hatred of crowds myself, but for me if it’s not such that I CANT pull away from it i’m OK. Like, the video mostly shows things with lots of people around, but you could also go and sit under a tree, or even back in the pines where no one else could see you. So I’m OK with that, but if you asked me to be somewhere where it was constantly loud volume and constant danger of touching people I’d be very grouchy.
But it is funny though, how you can be perfectly aligned with somebody certain areas and still find a big incompatibility. I guess this is why I don’t believe in “friend soul mates”- send like you get the most interesting friends if you go for good compatibility in one out two areas and let yourself find out what different perspectives people have.. And it’s OK cause you can always get another friend to go do that one thing with you (well, depending on how niche that one thing is..).
(As I think about it more, I think having a camera is my shield and panacea too. I could probably do touchy crowded for a lot longer if I could have the camera to hide behind.)

I have to agree about the friends thing. Well, truthfully, if I expected my friends to be compatible with me in MOST areas, I’d probably have zero friends, lol. But yeah, part of the fun is being compatible enough to enjoy your differences at the same time. I have friends that feed different parts of my personality, but none that feed ALL of them!

Interesting thought about your camera, too. I hadn’t thought of it that way, but that’s such a great observation. I wish something like that could work for me, but I don’t think I’m bold enough, most of the time (even though it’s a shield). Hah, lately my HAIR has actually been my shield/panacea for crowds. Weird.

I used to use hair as a conversation starter/awkwardness deflector/shield too I think. I want to try to claim that I don’t so much anymore, but I guess I’m not sure. I do use my side shave to protect me against people getting the idea that I’m super traditional I guess. That’s a blog itself though.

Do you ever think of a certain thing you want to do, and wish someone would do it with you, and realize you don’t have a friend for that?

      3. Kelley says:

Hmm sometimes, yeah. But generally I think I’m pretty col with just doing things on my own and not really caring if I’m a complete loner.

Also.. I really do kind of love the heat. Like even the really baking sun that makes you a melted hot mess.

      1. Kelley says:

My best friend is the same way. All she wants to do it sit outside and bake in the hot friggin sun, and I always just want to stay indoors. >_<
